about Kat Shakti
Hello 🧡
My name is Kat Shakti. My mission in this life is to help women transform their relationship with their bodies. I want to show you how you can love yourself again, exactly as you are. Also how this loving and supportive approach can help you achieve your weight and appearance goals, while being fun and easy.
Â
For as long as I can remember, I haven't accepted my body. I stood in front of the mirror and saw everything that was "wrong" with me. I pinched my fat with such intense disgust that it sometimes left bruises on my thighs and stomach. I was teased in elementary school, and in high school I experienced online bullying in the form of cruel comments on my photos from people from my high school. I was always picked last for the team in school sports, which made me feel inferior. I was once the chubby kid at a sports camp, which left me completely alone because no one wanted to be friends with a fat girl. When I was 7 years old, I started my first diet and exercise regimen to lose weight. For most of my life, I felt fat and unattractive, and therefore unworthy of love.
Â
My weight has always fluctuated. Until I was 28 and discovered EFT Tapping. That's when the breakthrough happened.
Â
One of the statements from this procedure "even though I do not accept my body, I choose to love and accept myself" began to help me understand the paradox of personal development and, therefore, weight loss.
Â
To change myself and my body in a sustainable and lasting way, I first have to love myself exactly as I am, not when I reach a certain shape, or weight, or get rid of a character flaw.
Â
I realized that it is practically impossible to take care of my body if I treat it with hostility and hatred. That when I finally love myself, I will no longer have to punish myself with exercise and eating, with feelings of shame and guilt. But I will WANT to do things that are beneficial to my health and weight. And I felt like I wanted to do it for myself and my health, not to fit a certain beauty standard.
Â
I had been working on improving my relationship with my body for years using various tools such as visualization, meditation, affirmation and yoga, but it was EFT that helped me finally love my body.
Â
Today, I support myself in everything I do and I am my biggest cheerleader. I am motivated, and at the same time I am understanding, and patient with myself.
Â
I have adapted an eating style that satisfies my taste buds, is good for my body and is easy to maintain. I found joy in movement and activities that work for me and I started losing excess weight with little effort.
Â
Since 2020, I have been inspiring other women to do the same. I help women free themselves from trauma and negative beliefs that led to obesity and a toxic self-image. I show women that they can change their relationship with their body, which gives me great joy and fulfillment.
Â
I am an EFT practitioner, Yin Yoga teacher and EFT workshops facilitator, as well as an artist and traveler.
Â
My adventure with yoga began in 1995 (I was 6 years old) at a children's camp on a permaculture farm and has remained in my life since then. It came and went, and finally in 2017 it became a permanent resident of my life.
In January 2019, I went to Rishikesh, India for 3 months, took part in a 2-month training (500 hours of YogaAllianceCertified) and started teaching classes. In 2020, I also started teaching on ZOOM and YouTube.
Â
I came across the EFT method (EmotionalFreedomTechnique) in 2016 and I immediately knew that it was a wonderful tool! Brad Yates (one of the pioneers of EFT) became my favorite teacher, and I regularly used his YouTube videos to help me with everyday problems. In 2019, after I translated several rounds for my mother and conducted them via Skype, the idea of translating his videos was born. A week later I went to a seminar with Brad in London, I got his consent and full support and that's how it started.
Â
After running the channel for a year, I realized how many people I can help with the EFT method only through YouTube. This made me decide to gain qualifications as an EFT practitioner and in February 2022 I obtained a certificate after training with a wonderful mentor, Magdalena RÄ…palska. Today, with great love and fulfillment, I help people take private responsibility for their own lives and well-being. Since then, I have also completed training with the creator of the Matrix Reimprinting method and Tapping Out Of Trauma, an 8-week course for EFT practitioners that focuses on working with trauma.
Â
I constantly expand my knowledge as an EFT practitioner and yoga teacher. Since finishing school in India, I have already participated in many trainings on yoga and teaching this wonderful practice, including Yin Yoga and how to conduct classes taking into account the trauma of others.
